RESOLUTION NO. 2025-121
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BENNETT ENGINEERING SERVICES INC., TO PROVIDE DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE
MARKELEY LANE RECONNECTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Markeley Lane Reconnection Project (CPW070126) proposes to connect Markeley Lane to Peabody Road to address traffic congestion in the area due to school student drop -off and pick-up; and
WHEREAS, the Train Station Specific Plan identified the Project as an obligation of private development and construction timing was reliant on future subdivision development; and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed staff to accelerate and prioritize the Project design to have construction ready documents, and to pursue construction grant funding; and
WHEREAS, the City requires outside professional design and technical services to develop and prepare construction-ready documents; and
WHEREAS, Bennett Engineering Services, Inc. (Bennett) is qualified to provide professional design services.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Fairfield that certain agreement for professional design services with Bennett for the Project in an amount not-to-exceed of $579,438.
Section 2. The city manager is hereby authorized to execute contract amendments for an amount not-to-exceed $115,888 or 20% of the contract amount.
Section 3. The city manager is hereby authorized to implement the above-mentioned contract.
