Good afternoon

I am writing in reference to the meeting scheduled for this evening, Tuesday July 15th at 6:30 p.m, regarding the proposed housing change at the Sure Stay Inn located on North Texas Street in Fairfield, California.

My husband and I have serious concerns about this proposal. Our primary concerns is the impact this change will have on the safety life in our neighborhood. We are particularly worried that individuals placed at this location will be unsupervised during the day, potentially loitering in residential areas, near businesses, and in high-traffic public spaces.

North Texas Street is a busy area, surrounded by essential businesses like Texas Roadhouse, Raley's Shopping Center, Chase Bank, and other local establishment. The addition of unsupervised individuals, many of whom may be dealing with substance abuse or mental health issues, poses a risk to both public safety and the peaceful nature of this community.

We strongly believe that if this housing change is to move forward, there must be proper structure in place. This includes mandatory participation in community service, access to mental health support, enrollment in drug rehabilitation programs, vocational training, and other structured programs during the day. Without these resources and accountability measures, the risk of the public disturbances, crime, and a decrease in neighborhood safety becomes a significant concern.

We moved to this neighborhood because it is quiet, safe, and family -friendly. We are asking the city take these concerns seriously and consider relocation this project to a more suitable location, or at minimum, implement strict guidelines and structured programs to ensure community safety is prioritized.

Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to hearing more about how these issues will be addressed.

Sincerely,
Virginia Garcilazo
