RESOLUTION NO. 2025-155
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
WITH DYETT & BHATIA TO PROVIDE PLANNING AND CONSULTING SERVICES FOR FAIRFIELD FORWARD 2050 IMPLEMENTATION PHASE I
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Fairfield Forward 2050 on December 3, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the project, consisting of a General Plan Update and Climate Action Plan, establishes a vision for growth and development through 2050; and
WHEREAS, council identified Fairfield Forward 2050 implementation priorities; and
WHEREAS, the City released a Request for Proposals in May 2025 to solicit proposals from planning consulting firms interested in supporting the first phase of Fairfield Forward 2050 implementation; and
WHEREAS, following a thorough review of all proposed scopes of work and a robust interview and evaluation process, the City wishes to retain the services of Dyett & Bhatia to assist the City in a timely and efficient implementation of short-term priorities; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Professional Services Agreement is for a contract amount of $599,324, with an additional 15% contingency of $ 90,000 for a total not-to-exceed amount of $ 689,324, which will support staff in completing short-term priorities in alignment with the council’s desired timeframes; and
WHEREAS, a developer reimbursement agreement may be entered into to offset the cost of the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The city manager is authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City, the proposed Professional Services Agreement between the City and Dyett & Bhatia for the first phase of implementation of Fairfield Forward 2050.
Section 2. The city manager is authorized to execute any future necessary amendments to the agreement.
