Hi Corrie,

Thanks so much for your letter. I am listening and hearing.

I’m cc’ing the clerks to ensure it’s part of the public record.

Faithfully Leading Fairfield,

Good day,

Following my earlier email, I had a chance to listen to the July 15th City Council meeting. I am even more concerned given the clear local community member opposition to this project and the blatant disregard to that opposition shown by Councilman Carr, Tonnesen, Williams and Sandhu. How can you vote “yes” for this when there has been no public engagement? Your priority should be to your voters and I heard no support (except for one woman who even acknowledged in her support that this project, if passed, would increase police activity).

I cannot help but wonder where this blind support comes from? Are you receiving financial support from Danco or their affiliates – contributions to your campaigns perhaps or some sort of kickback?

I also wonder if any of you live within 2miles of this proposed project. If not, it’s vital that you listen to those that do. I live .7 miles from this location and I strongly urge you to reconsider your support.

You don't often get email from [email protected]. Learn why this is important CAUTION: This email originated from outside the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.

2 Scott – You noted that this is purely a zoning change. After listening to the meeting, that is so clearly inaccurate as the purpose of the zoning change is purely for this project to go through. Mr. Dart from Danco acknowledged after your question that the only step they were awaiting approval from was HUD, which they anticipated to have received by the end of July and may have already been received by the writing of this email. Before he even finished his sentence you said you would approve the zoning change. Where is your due diligence?

Doug – I would LOVE to see the data, not produced by the organizations that profit from these types of projects, that support your statement that these projects actually clean up areas. This small area CANNOT take on 90+ individuals with severe mental health challenges, SUD and sexual predatory behaviors. Our local PD can barely keep up with the issues we currently see with the 10-15 frequent unhoused folks that roam in and out of this area. This project is not feasible on its face. The math is not mathing, Doug!

The first step should have been community engagement, not after the fact. Frankly, I cannot understand how a project of this impact is not required to be a ballot measure.

I am a proud resident of Fairfield and would hate to see this area negatively impacted by a greedy organization profiting off the backs of the most vulnerable populations.

Several of you are up for re-election next year (Doug, Doriss and Patrice) and if you continue to support this project, I am confident you will NOT be re-elected. And, I’ll be sure folks don’t forget in 2028 where you stand Scott and Manveer.

THANK YOU to Pam and Cat for your voices of reason during the meeting in July and voting NO.

The citizens of Fairfield deserve better than the way this matter has been handled and our voices deserve to not only be heard, but actually listened to.

This project is not a fit for our community and will further exacerbate the current homelessness and drug issues already rampant up and down North Texas Street and will undoubtedly impact local businesses' decision to stay here.

Again, I strongly oppose this project and implore you to VOTE NO.

Adding the City Clerks Office to request my concerns are included on the record.

Concerned citizen of Fairfield.

3 Good day,

I am a resident of Fairfield and I live on Paradise Ct, less than 5 miles of this proposed project. I am writing to express that I strongly oppose this project and ask you to please reconsider and NOT approve this .

This area is one of few remaining beautiful pockets of Fairfield and it would be tarnished if this project moves forward.

This project is not a fit for our community and will further exacerbate the current homelessness and drug issues already rampant up and down North Texas Street.

As a female, I am already scared to walk my dog by myself out of my immediate neighborhood due to the drug activity and individuals experiencing mental health episodes around Raleys and Lowe’s. I’ve seen drug paraphernalia exchanged in broad daylight and that is unacceptable and alarming.

I see police in the area but no action is taken with those loitering and clearly under the influence. I encourage you to drive today and see for yourself the massive issues we already have and need to address in the area. This project would do nothing but exacerbate the issues already occurring and impact our property values and safety.

As a member of City Council your priority should be to protect our community and residents who PAY TAXES AND VOTE (in every election).

Again, I strongly oppose this project and implore you to not pass this project.

With gratitude,
Corie Corbett
