Whether providing housing will stabilize the targeted populaƟon the proposal hopes to help is unclear. Both my husband and myself were Social Workers for many years. Helping people to help themselves is not an easy task. Drug addicƟon is difficult to overcome. Pedophiles don't change- they may just become more clever.
Homeless with severe mental illness oŌen will not accept help. But I understand the desire to try to make a change.
However I do not think having housing next to a very popular restaurant - Texas Roadhouse and a Starbucks is safe. Yes for the most part our side of Fairfield is calm and thriving. Why would people want to destroy that and ruin thriving businesses? Honestly the heart of old Fairfield is full of homeless and creepy motels that probably house homeless. Maybe that area or somewhere that is not as populated. Of course I want people to be helped but if it has to be in Fairfield pick a beƩer site. How about the empty Goodwill? Or the empty Walmart area. Please do not approve the current proposed site.
Thank you.
