Honorable Mayor and Councilmembers,
I am writing to express my strong support for the proposed rezoning of Ordinance 2025- 06 CD Vista Ridge Zone Change, along with the development of the Vista Ridge Permanent Supportive Housing Project at 3331 North Texas Street in Fairfield.
This project represents a crucial and timely advancement in our efforts to tackle one of our region’s most pressing needs, permanent supportive housing. Vista Ridge will offer 50 dedicated units equipped with on-site services aimed at supporting our most vulnerable residents, including veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness who are seeking housing assistance, and those facing mental health challenges that require comprehensive supportive services.
Successful models such as Fair Haven Commons have demonstrated that permanent supportive housing provides more than just shelter; it delivers the essential wraparound services that enable residents to achieve long-term stability, independence, and success.
Vista Ridge is poised to achieve similar, impactful results.
Moreover, the strategic location of Vista Ridge enhances its effectiveness, with immediate access to grocery stores, restaurants, healthcare facilities, and public transportation. These critical resources will facilitate residents' full integration into the community, enabling them to meet their daily needs and maintain their self-sufficiency.
In light of the acute housing challenges confronting our region, I respectively urge the Fairfield City Council to approve the rezoning request for 3331 North Texas Street. This project not only aligns with Fairfield’s planning goals but also embodies our shared commitment to creating pathways to stability, dignity, and opportunity for all residents.
