RESOLUTION NO. 2025-186
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD AND NICHOLS CONSULTING ENGINEERS, CHTD. FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR FISCAL YEARS 2024 AND 2025 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS ON THE 2026 RANCHO SOLANO PAVEMENT
MAINTENANCE PROJECT
WHEREAS, on February 20, 2024, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2024 -32 authorizing the city manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Nichols Consulting Engineers, Chtd. (NCE) for a total amount not-to-exceed $400,000 for fiscal year (FY) 2024-2025; and
WHEREAS, on April 23, 2025, Amendment No. 1 was executed and extended the terms of the PSA through June 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, during the conceptual planning phase, staff determined it would be more efficient to consolidate the projects in the Rancho Solano neighborhoods into one single, comprehensive paving Project; and
WHEREAS, NCE is willing and qualified to provide design services for capital improvement project; and
WHEREAS, Amendment No. 2 will increase total PSA authorization by $ 169,800 to provide engineering design services for the 2026 Rancho Solano Pavement Maintenance Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of City of Fairfield Amendment No. 2 to the PSA between the City of Fairfield and NCE increasing the authorization by $169,800 for an amount not-to-exceed $569,800.
Section 2. The city manager or designee is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to implement the above-mentioned contract and amendments.
