CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2025-203
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF VIRTUAL SERVERS FROM CDW GOVERNMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfield relies on virtualization software as the foundation of its City-wide server environment, which supports all core service delivery systems; and
WHEREAS, the City’s virtual infrastructure requires ongoing licenses and support to ensure functionality of critical systems; and
WHEREAS, the City has utilized this virtualization software for over 16 years and is heavily invested in this platform, which remains foundational to service delivery across the organization; and
WHEREAS, the City’s previous five-year licensing agreement expired on August 22, 2025, and the City seeks to renew licensing and support for a new five-year term through August 22, 2030; and
WHEREAS, the City will purchase from CDW Government ( CDW-G) under the OMNIA Mesa 2024056-01 – GOV cooperative contract, thereby relying on the competitive solicitation, to procure technology goods and services without issuing a separate Request for Proposal; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funding in the amount of $997,072 is available in Computer Fund 522, Project OITENLICOP.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The City Council authorizes the purchase of virtualization software with CDW-G, in an amount not to exceed $997,072, which is budgeted in Computer Fund 522, Project OITENLICOP.
Section 2. The council hereby authorizes the city manager or designee to take all steps necessary or useful to implement this resolution.
