RESOLUTION NO. 2025-235
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BENNETT ENGINEERING SERVICES INC., TO PROVIDE DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE TRAVIS
SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL AND TRANSIT TRAIL PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Travis Safe Routes to School and Transit Trail Project (Project) proposes to connect Travis Air Force Base, Center Elementary, Golden West Middle, Vanden High and the Fairfield - Vacaville Hannigan Train Station by a designated trail network; and
WHEREAS, the City requires outside professional design and technical services to develop and prepare construction-ready documents; and
WHEREAS, in January 2025, staff began the procurement process to select a consultant team for the Design of the Project; and; and
WHEREAS, the evaluation committee determined that Bennett Engineering Services, Inc. (Bennett) is the most qualified for the Project to provide professional design services; and
WHEREAS, the city wishes to enter into a professional services agreement with Bennett to provide professional design services for the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Fairfield that certain agreement for professional design services with Bennett for the Project in an amount not-to-exceed of $939,894.
Section 2. The city manager is hereby authorized to execute contract amendments for an amount not-to-exceed $93,989.40 per the 10% management reserve.
Section 3. The city manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to implement the above-mentioned contract.
