RESOLUTION NO. 2025-245
AUTHORIZING AN UPDATE TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2025-2026 BUDGET FOR FIRE STATION 36 FOR
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, On July 1, 2025, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2025 -123 which approved plans and specifications and awarded a construction contract to Broward Builders, Inc for the construction of two new fire station facilities, Fire Station 36 and Fire Station 39 (Project ; CPW10036 and CPW010039); and
WHEREAS, the Project pursuant to California Building Code Sections 1701, 1704, and 1705, the Project requires special inspections, construction material testing, and other technical expertise to ensure compliance; and
WHEREAS, several construction related and regulatory costs, including building sy stems, utility service requirements, easement related legal work, and city permitting and connection fees were underestimated or not budgeted for Fire Station 36 in the adopted fiscal year (FY) 2025-2026 budget; and
WHEREAS, Fire Station 36 will require a total budget adjustment of $865,000 to Capital Building Fund (Fund 254) to be funded with Community Facilities District 3 Fund (Fund 327) to cover the required special inspections , construction material testing , alerting sys tem improvements and design costs; and
WHEREAS, the revised appropriation constitutes an update to the FY 2025-2026 budget approved pursuant to Resolution No. 2025-103.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The council hereby approves a budget transfer of $ 865,000 from the Community Facilities District 3 Fund ( Fund 327) to the Public Building Fund (Fund 254, CPW10036) for the Fire Station 36 Project.
Section 2. The council hereby approves an increase of appr opriations of $ 865,000 to the FY 2025-2026 Public Building Fund (Fund 254) for Fire Station 36 (CPW010036).
