CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2025-258
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THE LOAN AGREEMENT WITH THE SOLANO TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR PHASE 1A –
CORPORATION YARD FLEET ELECTRIFICATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City proposes to purchase electric vehicle chargers and related equipment and install electrical infrastructure to support its transition to a zero -emission all-electric transit and public works fleet; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a bid of $3,165,800 to purchase, install, and construct all required electrical equipment and infrastructure for Phase 1A - Corporation Yard Fleet Electrification (Project); and
WHEREAS, the City was left with a funding gap with the necessary rescoping of its discretionary Fiscal Year 2022 Federal Transit Administration Bus and Bus Facilities grant; and
WHEREAS, the City is seeking a $1.2 million loan secured from the revenue of transit and other fleet fuel charges; and
WHEREAS, the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) will provide such financing using Regional Measure 3 (RM3) funds to fill the funding gap.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The city manager or designee is hereby authorized on behalf of the City of Fairfield to negotiate and agree to the terms of the Loan Agreement between the City of Fairfield and STA.
Section 2. The city manager, director of public works, or designee are hereby authorized and directed to take all steps necessary to implement the Loan Agreement.
