RESOLUTION NO. 2026-10
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE FUNDING AND ADOPTION OF THE NORTH TEXAS STREET
REVITALIZATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, during the City Council Retreat of January 2025, council instructed staff to create an improvement program to meet the needs of the businesses and properties located within the North Texas Street District; and
WHEREAS, with the success of the Downtown’s Revitalization & Enhancement Assistance Program (REAP), staff created a simila rly structured program based on input from the North Texas Street Business Association and its members; and
WHEREAS, staff created the North Texas Street Revitalization Program for the purpose of encouraging property and business owners of commercial property to enhance and revitalize the appearance and safety of properties through improvements to exterior lighting, signage, landscaping and parking lots within the North Texas Street District.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The council hereby approves the North Texas Street Revitalization Program in the form and content presented and attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 2. The council hereby approves funding in the amo unt of $372,274 for the North Texas Street Revitalization Program property improvement grants.
Section 3. The council authorizes the city manager, or their designee, to implement the review process incorporated in Exhibit A , and is further authorized to revise the Program, and application requirements described by Exhibit A with advice and counsel of the city attorney.
Section 4. The city manager is hereby authorized to take all actions as may be required to implement this resolution and the Program, including but not limited to, disbursement of Program funding, execution of Improvements Deeds, and the execution of Certificate s of Acceptance.
