RESOLUTION NO. 2026-22
APPROVING A SHORTLIST OF QUALIFIED CONSULTANTS FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROJECTS ENGINEERING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City utilizes professional consulting firms to provide licensed technical ex pertise across various disciplines that support the implementation of the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) as well as other non-CIP projects and initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the use of pre -qualified consultant s is standard for agencies that prioritize both efficient staffing levels and productivity; and
WHEREAS, the City publicly released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) inviting qualified firms to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQs) for CIP engineering services on July 7,2025,and received proposals from 26 consultants on August 18, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the SOQ’s were for four project categories consisting of Parks, Streets, Transportation and Water and firms were allowed to submit for multiple project categories; and
WHEREAS, the proposals were evaluated based on qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated ability to perform services requested, and selected consultants are deemed to be qualified; and
WHEREAS, the shortlist of qualified consultants (Shortlist) provides flexibility and efficiency for a broad range of projects and it is not intended for large or complex projects; and
WHEREAS, the shortlist of approved consultants for engineering services will serve as the basis for awarding professional services agreements for projects requiring technical expertise.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The Shortlist for capital improvement projects Engineering Services as shown in Exhibit A is approved for a term of five years, effective upon adoption of this resolution through June 30, 2030.
Section 2. The City staff and the city engineer are authorized to solicit and review proposals from the approved consultants as needed.
