RESOLUTION NO. 2026-34
APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE CITY’S UPDATED SALARY SCHEDULE REFLECTING RECENT
BARGAINING UNIT AGREEMENTS AND COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENTS FOR CALPERS
REPORTING PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfield participates in the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS); and
WHEREAS, California Code of Regulations, Title 2, Section 570.5 requires that compensation reported to CalPERS for retirement benefit calculations be based on a salary sche dule that has been duly approved and adopted by the employer’s governing body in accordance with applicable public meeting laws; and
WHEREAS, the City has recently implemented compensation changes resulting from approved labor agreements and other authorized actions; and
WHEREAS, the updated salary schedule reflects previously approved compensation and is necessary to ensure compliance with CalPERS reporting requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The updated salary schedule, attached hereto and incorporated by reference, is hereby approved and adopted for CalPERS reporting purposes.
Section 2. The city manager or designee is authorized to submit the approved salary schedule to CalPERS and take all actions necessary to implement this resolution.
