CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2026-39
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE REPLACEMENT SHOP DOORS FOR THE
PUBLIC WORKS FLEET MAINTENANCE SHOP
WHEREAS, the Fleet Division Maintenance Shop (Main Shop) now 35 years old, requires both preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure continued safe and reliable operation; and
WHEREAS, the existing bay doors at the Public Works fleet main shop have reached the end of their useful life; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the purchase and installation of updated Teledoors to decrease downtime and increase the safety for equipment mechanics; and
WHEREAS, quotes were requested from Byron Inc., Union Door, and National Garage Door Inc. with National Garage Door Inc. being the only quote received; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Fleet Division would like to proceed with purchasing and replacing the current shop doors with new Teledoors from National Garage Door, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. T he city manager is hereby authorized and directed to purchase three Teledoors, including removal and installation from National Garage Door Inc. in the amount of $188,456.36.
Section 2. The director of public works is hereby authorized to execute and administer change orders for an amount not-to-exceed 10% contingency ($18,846) of the above purchase.
Section 3. The city manager or designee is authorized to do all things necessary to implement the above-mentioned purchase.
