AUTHORIZING AN UPDATE TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2025-2026 ROBBIEBURR BERGER PARK – 2030
NORTH TEXAS STREET RECREATION CENTER PROJECT BUDGET TO REFLECT MODIFIED
DEVELOPMENT REVENUE FORECASTS
WHEREAS, on December 17, 2024, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2024-291, awarding a construction contract to CWS Construction Group, Inc. (CWS) for the Robbieburr Berger Park – 2030 N. Texas Street Recreation Center Project (Project, CPW050035); and
WHEREAS, construction began on March 17, 2025 , is approximately 52% complete, and is tentatively slated for substantial completion in July 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Project includes the development of 4.43 acres of land directly adjacent to the Linear Park Trail into a 6,700 square foot recreation center, various multi-use fields, open space, and outdoor recreational areas, a parking lot, and picnic areas; and
WHEREAS, the total Project budget is $18,255,703, which include s $10,586,493 of AB 1600 – Parks Funds; and
WHEREAS, due to modified development forecasts, the AB 1600 – Parks revenue available for the Project will be $3,700,000 less than anticipated; and
WHEREAS, funding of $3,700,000 has been updated from AB 1600 – Parks Fund (Fund 263) to Bedroom Tax Fund (Fund 165); and
WHEREAS, the budget adjustment will result in a net -zero increase to the total Project budget ; and
WHEREAS, the revised appropriation constitutes an update to the fiscal year (FY) 2025-2026 budget approved pursuant to Resolution No. 2025-103.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The council hereby approves a one -time budget adjustment to update the project’s funding from AB 1600 – Parks Fund (Fund 263) by $3,700,000 to Bedroom Tax Fund (Fund 165) in the FY 2025 -2026 Robbieburr Berger Park – 2030 N. Texas Street Recreation Center Project budget.
