RESOLUTION NO. 2026-52
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD AND THE COUNTY OF SOLANO ON BEHALF OF THE FIRST 5
SOLANO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES COMMISSION FOR THE USE OF ROBBIEBURR BERGER COMMUNITY CENTER, LOCATED AT 2030 N. TEXAS STREET
WHEREAS, in mid-2022, the City and First 5 entered into a MOU for the establishment of a First 5 Center in Fairfield in which First 5 contributed $2M toward the design and construction of the Community Center; and
WHEREAS, the City will own the building and surrounding property and through a long-term use agreement of no less than 13 years, First 5 will provide services that advance opportunities for Solano County’s youngest children, 0 -5 years, and their families , which strengthens early childhood systems to support future generations; and
WHEREAS, First 5 will have primary use of the Community Center and adjacent fenced outdoor play area for programs and services; and
WHEREAS, the City and First 5 acknowledge First 5 assumes certain financial responsibilities for the operation and maintenance of the Community Center and adjacent fenced outdoor play area.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The city manager or designee is hereby authorized to execute an MOU between the City of Fairfield and County of Solano – First 5 Solano Children and Families Commission.
Section 2. Approval for First 5 to operate and maintain the Robbieburr Com munity Center for the purposes of providing services to Fairfield residents, with a long-term use of no less than 13 years.
