RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve City facility naming to honor Chris Bell.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE
The City Council is being asked to approve the Honors Committee's recommendation to name the new Fire Station 36, “The Chris Bell Memorial Fire Station 36,” a former Fairfield Fire Department Fire Engineer who passed away due to occupational cancer.
DISCUSSION
The applicant listed above is recommended for naming Fire Station 36 by the Honors Committee, which consists of two councilmembers (Councilmembers Doug Carr and Manveer Sandhu) that the mayor appoints annually. T he recommendations were submitted to Mayor Catherine "Cat" Moy for consideration.
Mayor Moy agreed with the recommendations provided.
