CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2026-59
AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL TO ADOPT THE BROADBAND SPECIFICATIONS AND
STANDARDS INTO THE PUBLIC WORKS STANDARDS SPECIFICATIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council can adopt recommendations from the State legislative that establishes the priorities, principles and goals for the use of Broadband for the State, counties, and cities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfield currently has no Broadband Specifications and Standards; and
WHEREAS, the City Council promotes the use of Broadband throughout the city’s infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to adopt standards and specifications for the appl ication of broadband use in the City’s infrastructure; and
WHEREAS adoption of the Broadband Specifications and Standards complies with the State legislation; and
WHEREAS, section 16 of the Fairfield Municipal Code provides that the council allow Micro - Trenching.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The City of Fairfield Standard Specifications and Details are hereby amended by adopting the Broadband provisions as provided in Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The director of public works is hereby authorized to approve and adopt future amendments to the Standard Specifications and Details.
