RESOLUTION NO. 2026-60
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
WITH RHYTHM ENGINEERING TO PROVIDE MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR THE FAIRFIELD
ADAPTIVE SYSTEM TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECT
WHEREAS, On April 1, 2026, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2025 -49 approving the Fairfield Adaptive System Traffic Signal Project (Project) as completed; and
WHEREAS, the Project requires on-going software, technical, and hardware maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the adaptive system technology is proprietary, and access to or work on the equipment and system is restricted exclusively to individuals authorized by Rhythm Engineering Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Rhythm Engineering has provided a quote to perform on -going mai ntenance for Software and technical support for a period of 4 years and maintenance services for a period of 3 years; and
WHEREAS, staff wishes to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with Rhythm Engineering for maintenance services for the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The city manager is authorized to enter into a professional services agreement with Rhythm Engineering, Inc., in the amount of $160,000.
Section 2. The director of public works is hereby authorized to execute and administer change orders for an amount not to exceed the 10% contingency of the agreement value in the amount of $16,000.
Section 3. The city manager or de signee is hereby authorized to implement the above - mentioned contract.
