RECOMMENDED ACTION
Adopt resolution.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE
The adoption of this resolution will approve a modification to the designation (name) of Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District (LLMD or District ) No. 13 – North Cordelia to Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District No. 13 – Green Valley.
DISCUSSION
LLMD No. 13 – North Cordelia was established on June 19, 1990, by Resolution No. 90 -195L pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 (Streets and Highways Code Section 22500 et seq.). At that time, the area within the boundaries of the original District was known as North Cordelia. Over the last 35 years, local residents and property owners within LLMD No. 13 more commonly refer to and know the area as Green Valley.
Green Valley property owners, including those who participate in the Green Valley Community Landscape Group, have requested that the City formally modify the designation of Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District No. 13 – North Cordelia to Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District No. 13 – Green Valley. The property owners advise that “Green Valley” is a more recognizable name and will attract the appropriate audience in matters of landscaping in their area.
The adoption of this resolution will approve a modification to the designation of Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District (LLMD) No. 13 – North Cordelia to Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District No. 13 – Green Valley. Except for the new designation for the District, th e resolution makes no other modifications to the District.

PUBLIC CONTACT/ADVISORY BODY RECOMMENDATION
The Green Valley Community Landscape Group submitted the request to modify the district designation to City staff in early 2025.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION
The council may deny the request, approve the request with modifications as directed by the council, or direct staff to return with additional information.
