STATEMENT OF ISSUE
The Human Resources (HR) Department seeks approval to amend its current Professional Services Agreement with Kramer Workplace Investigations for as-needed legal and investigation services by increasing the not-to-exceed amount.

DISCUSSION
Kramer Workplace Investigations is one of several consultants that the Human Resources Department utilized for as -needed legal and investigation services. Karen Kramer is an employment law attorney specializing in workplace investigations and has conducted hundreds of investigations for public ag encies involving allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation, and misconduct and disciplinary matters. The Human Resources Department often requires these types of services and depends heavily on Kramer Workplace Investigations who provides thorough investigations and detailed, accurate reports.

The City of Fairfield entered into a four -year agreement with Kramer Workplace Investigations on January 11, 2024, with an end date of June 30, 2027, and not-to-exceed amount of $100,000.

As the need for these services continues, the Human Resources Department requests approval

of Amendment No. 1 to increase the amount by $100,00, increasing the not -to-exceed amount to $200,000.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The amount of the proposed amendment is $100,000. The f unds for this amendment are accounted for in the General Fund (10115100 -8911). Other departments may assist with offsetting the cost; depending on the scope of the investigation and personnel involved.
