DISCUSSION
On August 19, 2025, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2025-167, approving contract with Chrisp Company to install Class II bike lanes along Broadway Street and Kentucky Street to address the lack of bicycle facilities. The work included painted lanes on the road designated for bicycles, green thermoplastic markings in areas where bi cycles and vehicles cross paths to increase visibility, and update traffic signage.
The work began on March 2, 2026. During the Project, one change order and one administrative change order were issued, resulting in a net contract adjustment of $5,954.35. The change order addressed the installation of roadside signs and posts, as well as a new sign on a light post not included in the original plans . Upon completion of the Project, an administrative change order was processed to adjust quantities for additional work and reconcile the final contract amount.
The final punch list items for the Project were completed on March 14, 2026.
The construction authorization for the Project was approved for $329,614.50 , which included a total bid amount of $299,600.50 and a 10% contingency of $29,965. The final cost for the Project was $305,603.85, which is approximately 7.28% below the authorized amount.
Following the council’s acceptance of the Project as complete, a Notice of Completion will be filed with the County of Solano’s Recorders Office.
