RESOLUTION NO. 2026-111
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD AND BERTRAND, FOX, ELLIOT, OSMAN, AND WENZEL, LLP
TO PROVIDE LEGAL REPRESENTATION FOR PERSONNEL MATTERS FOR THE FAIRFIELD POLICE
DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, On July 1, 2024, the City of Fairfield entered into a Professional Services Agreement with Bertrand, Fox, Elliot, Osman, & Wenzel, LLP to provide legal representation for public safety personnel matters for the City of Fairfield; and
WHEREAS, the current term will end on June 30, 2026; and
WHEREAS, City staff recommend Bertrand, Fox, Elliot, Osman, & Wenzel, LLP, which specializes in providing these services to government agencies; and
WHEREAS, entering into an agreement with Bertrand, Fox, Elliot, Osman, & Wenzel , LLP will ensure continuity of services; and
WHEREAS, the City and Bertrand , Fox, Elliot, Osman, & Wenzel, LLP wish to enter into a three year agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The agreement between the City and Bertrand , Fox, Elliot, Osman, & Wenzel, LLP is entered into for a period of three years, expiring on June 30, 2029.
Section 2. The city manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Fairfield, the proposed Professional Services Agreement between the City and Bertrand, Fox, Elliot, Osman, & Wenzel, LLP in an amount not-to-exceed $390,000.
Section 3. The city manager is hereby authorized to execute any future necessary amendments to the agreement including two additional one-year terms in an amount not-to-exceed $130,000 annually.
