CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2026-123
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACTOR SERVICE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD AND KIEWIT INFRASTRUCTURE WEST CO. TO INSTALL CASING ON A CITY-OWNED PIPELINE AS PART OF THE I-80 WESTBOUND TRUCK SCALES
WATER IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the 30-inch water main casing under I80 needs to be extended outside Caltrans relocated right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, the City received two quotes for the work; and
WHEREAS, the low bid was received from Kiewit Infrastructure West Co.; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending City Council award the contract to Kiewit Infrastructure West Co for the total bid price of $704,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The city manager or designee is authorized to execute a contractor service agreement with Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. for the Project in the amount of $704,000.
Section 2. The director of public works is hereby authorized to execute and administer chan ge orders for an amount not to exceed the 5% contingency of the agreement value in the amount of $35,200, bringing the total construction authorization to $739,200.
Section 4. The city manager or designee is authorized to enter into an escrow agreement for security deposits in lieu of retention for said contract, if necessary.
Section 5. The director of public works or designee is hereby authorized to implement the above mentioned contract.
