STATEMENT OF ISSUE
The Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District (FSSD) is requesting that the City of Fairfield grant a 40 -foot- wide easement on City -owned properties within Assessor’s Parcel Numbers (APNs) 0166-102- 080, 0170-020-170, & 0170-020-140. This easement is sought to accommodate the relocation of FSSD’s 15-inch sewer line on APN 0166-102-080, as well as the 12-inch sewer line on APNs 0170- 020-140 & 0170 -020-170. The proposed resolution authorizes th e city manager to execute the two necessary easement deeds.
DISCUSSION
On May 7, 2013, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2013 -84, approving the plans and specifications for the Peabody Road Water and Sewer Relocation Project (Project). Construction began to relocate water and sewer utilities along Peabody Road, prompting the relocation of a 12-inch and 15 -inch FSSD sewer line on City -owned properties located within APN’s 0166-102- 080, 0170-020-170, & 0170-020-140 (Properties). Since then, constructio n for the relocation of the sewer lines and subsequent on -site improvements within the Properties have been completed. As a result, FSSD requested easements from the City to allow for their continued
operation and maintenance of the 12-inch and 15-inch sewer line on the Properties. The 40-foot- wide easement will be centered on the relocated sewer lines.
The resolution will authorize the city manager to execute both easement deeds granting the easements to FSSD.
