GENERAL SUMMARY OUTLINE – CITY VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
City is open to consider a volunteer program:
Reduction from current and past practices (shifts/benefits) Modification of tasks from past practices (responsibilities adjusted/limited) City Responsibilities
Create volunteer application form and waiver form
Create volunteer “handbook”
Ensure volunteers have completed waiver form and training prior to scheduling Manage DOJ/Background clearance process (fees charged to Golf Fund) Provide additional liability coverage for program (cost charged to Golf Fund) Direct city staff support costs will be charged to Golf Fund Ensure all volunteers are current with mandated training Kemper Responsibilities
Assist with creating volunteer “handbook”
Manage and prepare volunteer schedule based upon operation need (fluctuates) Provide “training” and general oversight of individual
Report any performance issues to City
Ensure that Kemper staff members understand the process, protocol and reporting procedures for volunteer benefits
On a monthly basis, provide City with report of volunteer activities and benefits received (by individual volunteer)
City/Kemper Joint Responsibility
Recruit/advertise for volunteers (as needed, on-going, etc.) Interview volunteer candidates
Address any volunteer performance issues
Host joint meeting(s) with volunteers (orientation, annual/biannual ck in mtgs) City directs Kemper to identify operation need and prepare schedule - will vary (i.e. extra help during Tournaments/Special events)
