CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2026-160
ADOPTING THE UPDATED FAIRFIELD MUNICIPAL UTILITY REGULATIONS
WHEREAS, the Fairfield Municipal Utility (FMU) Administrative Regulations have not been revised in a comprehensive manner since March of 1999; and
WHEREAS, the administrative regulations require a comprehensive update in order to accurately reflect current policies and procedures; and
WHEREAS, on January 20, 2026, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2025 -13, updating Chapter 22 of the Fairfield Municipal Code for Water; and
WHEREAS, state law requires certain procedures regarding billing, security deposits , and collections be adopted and followed by all municipally owned utilities; and
WHEREAS, the FMU Administrative Regulations are renamed to the FMU Regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The regulations for FMU are hereby amended in their entirety to read as reflected in the attached document entitled FMU Regulations.
Section 2. The FMU Administrative Regulations are to be renamed to the FMU Regulations.
