CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2026-58
ADOPTING THE MICRO-TRENCHING SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS INTO THE PUBLIC
WORKS STANDARDS SPECIFICATIONS
WHEREAS, historically, the City Council adopts State legislative platforms that establish the priorities, principles and policy for the City of Fairfield; and
WHEREAS, on October 8, 2021, the State legislative approved Senate Bill 378 (SB 378) requiring the City of Fairfield to allow Micro-Trenching; and
WHEREAS, the City currently has no micro-trenching specifications and standards; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to adopt standards and specifications for the application of micro - trenching use in the City’s infrastructure; and
WHEREAS adoption of the Micro-Trenching Specifications and Standards complies with the State legislation; and
WHEREAS, section 16 of the Fairfield Municipal Code provides that the council allow Micro - Trenching.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The City of Fairfield Standard Specifications and Details are hereby amended by adopting the Micro -Trenching provisions as provided in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The director of public works is hereby authorized to approve and adopt future amendments to the Standard Specifications and Details.
Section 3. The city manager or designee is hereby authorized to dl all things necessary to implement this resolution.
