Approve the minute action.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE
In accordance with the City of Fairfield’s “Outdoor Flag Policy,” Mayor Rick Vaccaro seeks City Council authorization to display the September 11's 25 th Anniversary flag in recognition of the 25th anniversary of September 11 . Since the flag will only be displayed during September 2026 and not on an annual basis, a resolution is not required.
DISCUSSION
September 11 is an official day of remembrance and prayer . This year , September 11 is remembered for its 25 th anniversary. Mayor Rick Vaccaro is seeking council approval to display the September 11 flag at the Fairfield Civic Center throughout September, beneath the U.S. and California flags.
The council's “Outdoor Flag Policy” (Resolution 2021-156) permits commemorative flags with council approval.
