A PUBLIC HEARING HAS BEEN SCHEDULED BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FONTANA FOR THE FOLLOWING:
Ordinance No. 2024-1941: An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Fontana, California, Pursuant to an Exemption from the California Environmental Quality Act, Approving a Development Agreement with Fontana Responsible and Compliant Retail, LLC, Concerning a Retail Cannabis Business, and Direct Staff to File a Notice of Exemption.
General Project Description:
A Development Agreement that has a term of 3 years, subject to 2 year extension periods, that, in consideration of the City’s approval of cannabis retail sales, provides for payment by the operator to the City a percentage of gross receipts of the business and other communities benefits.
Environmental Determination:
The whole of the Project, including the Development Agreement, has been reviewed and found to be exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) per State CEQA Guidelines Section 15301, Existing Facilities, as the cannabis retail use will be located in an existing commercial facility with no proposed expansion to the building and only making minor interior improvement and minor exterior façade improvements and new landscaping and restriping of the parking lot.
