It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to speak at the meeting but I would like the planning committee to take a look into my case as I am willing to work with the city on a 2 year condition to ensure the welfare of the community. If I could have a tryout period then the city can compare the data. I understand the concern of the police department but this store was grandfathered in previously.

Based on the police report that was submitted to the planning committee on Dec.5.2023, they stated that there were 14 calls in which none of them were related to alcohol. Thirteen of the calls were related to graffiti and one of them was related to medical. The committee denied my request based upon the police report and recommendation. Even though I followed all the requirements from placing signs on the corner of the streets and sending out 350 letters within the zoning area to notify them in which none of them rejected the proposed project. When the signs were installed the customers that came into my shop would call the city to give their approval in front of me. On the other hand I was shocked to find out from Mai that she had not received any of the phone calls but only emails that were sent the day of the meeting.

My customers told me that they could send out email instead. (I had no idea that it was a possible option.

This would have been a better communication method since calls are not being documented).

Also, in the meeting I was complemented that it was a compelling statement but I would like to provide the facts to the city. Enclosed are a couple of current sales reports to support my statement. I seek not empathy but support for my small business to continue in Fontana.

Since I opened the shop, there are no more homeless individuals in the shopping center. I have added very bright lighting outside of my store. I feel that the committee had a set opinion on my case and voting occurred quickly without explanation. It was a done deal. They have received approval from the building management MGR and the owner. Not to mention all of the corresponding letters mailed to the surrounding community and none were in disagreement.. In addition to sixteen emails that were in approval and three public speakers that attended the hearing. All of this data was Not taken into consideration. I am confused by the public hearing process that happened without taking into account the public's point of view.

İ would appreciate it if you would look into my case. Your time is valuable and I understand that I am only a small business that is struggling to better serve the community.

Respectfully,
Firass Farrai
