CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL:
A. 8:00 A.M. Call To Order/Roll Call:
The Special Meeting of the Fontana City Council was held in the Grover W. Taylor Council Chambers, 8353 Sierra Avenue, Fontana, CA 92335, on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
Mayor Warren called the Special City Council Meeting to order at 8:05 a.m.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: Mayor Warren, Council Members Cothran, Roberts and Sandoval.
ABSENT: Mayor Pro Tem Garcia, City Treasurer Janet Koehler -Brooks and City Clerk Germaine Key
INVOCATION/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
A. Invocation/Pledge of Allegiance:
The invocation was given by Council Member Roberts, followed by the pledge of allegiance led by Council Member Cothran.
PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS:
A. Public Communications
Michael Tahar greeted the Council and thanked them for their efforts. Expressed concerns about the condition of the Fontana Metrolink station and asked the City to partner with Metrolink and the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority to address.
CONSENT CALENDAR:
ACTION: Motion was made by Council Member Roberts, seconded by Council Member Cothran, and passed by a vote of 4-0 to approve Consent Calendar Item “A.” The motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Warren, Cothran, Roberts, and Sandoval; NOES:
None; ABSTAIN: None; ABSENT: Garcia
A. Approve an Easement with Southern California Edison (SCE) 21-3128 Company along John Previti Road (formerly Lytle Creek Road), south of Duncan Canyon Road.
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Easement with Southern California Edison (SCE) Company.
CITY MANAGER COMMUNICATIONS:
A. City Manager Communications
City Manager Mat t Ballantyne thanked the Council for attending today's meeting. Also stated that there were two summer concerts remaining on July 25th and August 1 st and encouraged all to attend.
ELECTED OFFICIALS COMMUNICATIONS/REPORTS:
A. Elected Officials Communications/Reports
Council Member Cothran clarified that today's meeting was to address Consent Calendar Item “A” since the Cou ncil was dark in A ugust. Also discussed the downtown parking structure project and wished Mayor Warren a happy birthday.
Council Member Roberts had no comments.
Council Member Sandoval had no comments.
Mayor Warren thanked everyone for the birthday wishes. Encouraged the community to attend the summer concerts in the park.

Mayor Warren adjourned the meeting at 8:15 a.m. to the next Regular City Council Meeting on September 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Grover W. Taylor Council Chambers located at 8353 Sierra Avenue, Fontana, California.
