Detailed Timeline
Our work plan has Creative Paving Solutions completing the thermoplastic installation in two days with a third day for any punch list items or unforeseen issues.
Pre-job start:
1. Review the design, plans, and get approval from the City for the design.
2. Once design is signed off on, we will order materials.
3. While we wait on materials we will hold a preconstruction meeting with the City of Fontana team to answer any questions, discuss the schedule, set expectations, and confirm we are abiding by the City and State safety and traffic control standards.
Day 1 & Day 2:
1. Using standard barricades and caution tape we will close off the work area.
2. Prep the surface with blowers and brooms to remove all existing dust on the work site. If there are oil stains are surface issues that the blowers and brooms do not remove, we will use degreasers or the correct equipment for proper surface preparation.
3. Once the surface is prepared, we will lay out the areas where the thermoplastic is to be installed. We will confirm with the plans that our placement is in accordance with the city’s design. If desired, the city can meet with us on site to approve layout before application.
4. Once the layout is confirmed, we will inspect the surface one list time for any dirt or debris and then begin the installation process.
a. Installation process
i. Install sealer primer on the surface prior to laying down the thermoplastic sheets ii. Lay down the sheets while also confirming the design iii. Using an SR-120 Infrared heater we begin to heat the thermoplastic until the seams melt together, and we achieve the proper temperature per manufacturer specifications. We will monitor the temperatures using a digital thermometer.
iv. Throughout the heating process we will evenly distribute corundum into the thermoplastic to add extra anti-skid material per the manufacturer specifications.
5. Clean up our workspace from all trash and debris, open traffic control, and leave the site for the day.
Day 3:
1. This day is set aside for any touchups, delays, or cleanup that are needed.
2. Walk the site with city inspectors and ensure customer satisfaction.
Additional Note:
1. All left over materials will be utilized on projects with similar colors or melted to boards as samples for future projects. None of the materials will go to waste.
2. Creative Paving Solutions has all of the bonding ability and insurance requirements the city needs
