RESOLUTION NO. 2026-083
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FONTANA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A DECREASE IN USER FEE FOR BLOCK PARTY PERMITS.
WHEREAS, the City of Fontana has conducted an extensive analysis of its services, the costs reasonably borne of providing those services, the beneficiaries of these services, and the revenues produced by those paying fees and charges for special services; and WHEREAS, the certain current fees charged for services provided by the City do not fully recover the actual costs of providing such services; and WHEREAS, per the rate study that was adopted by the City Council on July 22, 2025 for rates that went into effect January 1, 2026, it was determined the fully burden rate block party permits was $352; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to make this rate more affordable and encourage community engagement in Fontana neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Sections 66016 and 66018, the specific fees charged must be adopted by the City Council by Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fontana, California, as follows:
Section 1. The schedule of User Fees is amended for “Block Party Permit” and reduced to a flat rate of $250 to offset the cost for staff review and the use of City blockades effective immediately following the adoption of this resolution.
