I have been pleased with the improved planning work coming out of the City since Marie Jones Consulting began assisting her former department. I fully support this contract extension for the planning work, particularly any LCP amendments. I am somewhat concerned, however, in the inclusion of CEQA-related work within her scope (see Exhibit A, Item No. 1) because that is an area where the City has fallen short in prior projects under her review, at least IMO. I still think you should approve the contract amendment and it doesn't need any amendment but the City might want to utilize her expertise and services with a focus on the planning tasks rather than the associated environmental review.
