RESOLUTION OF THE FORT BRAGG CITY COUNCIL
APPROVING COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH
THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Bragg was awarded $898,990 in Local Coastal Program (LCP) Grant Funds from the California Coastal Commission; and WHEREAS, on March 31, 2023 the City entered into standard agreement number LCP-22-07 for said funds; and WHEREAS, eligible use of LCP-22-07 funds include covering the City’s portion of matching funds for a California Sea Grant (CASG) assist with implementation on grant activities; and WHEREAS, the fellow will receive $125,272 stipend to cover living expenses and health insurance premiums for a 24-month assignment; and WHEREAS, the City’s portion of associated costs for fellow will not exceed $89,000 and shall be covered with LCP 22-07 grant funds (Account No. 337-5080-0630); and WHEREAS, per Fort Bragg Municipal Code Section 3.20.040, decisions to award contracts in an amount greater than $25,000 shall be made by Council resolution WHEREAS, a Cooperative Agreement was developed and approved as to form by Counsel of the City and the Regents of the University of California; and WHEREAS, there is no possibility that the approval of the Agreement will have a significant effect on the environment, and for that reason it is exempt from CEQA under 14 CCR 15268.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Fort Bragg City Council does hereby authorize the Mayor to execute the Cooperative Agreement on behalf of the City.
