RESOLUTION OF THE FORT BRAGG CITY COUNCIL
ACCEPTING THE FINAL PRODUCT FROM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PLANNING GRANT 20-CDBG-12029
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Bragg applied for and was awarded funding in the amount of $203,702 for a Fire Station Rehabilitation Planning activity and General Administration under the 2019/2020 Notice of Funding Availability for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which is administered by the California Department Housing and Community Development (HCD); and WHEREAS, the purpose of this planning activity was to complete plans, specifications, and environmental review for the rehabilitation of the Fire Station to meet seismic standards; and WHEREAS, the City contracted with Gutierrez / Associates Architects and Planners for rehabilitation design. As design work commenced and structural and architectural analysis were completed, it became clear that reconstruction would be more cost-efficient than rehabilitation; and WHEREAS, due to the ongoing increase in the cost of design and construction, it was determined that the grant funds would not be sufficient to cover the cost of design for reconstruction of the entire fire station; and WHEREAS, the scope of work was revised to include plans and specifications for only the reconstruction of the North Wing of the Fire Station; and WHEREAS, the City contracted with Whitchurch Engineering, Inc. for reconstruction design; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed completed plans and approved a Coastal Development Permit and a Sign Permit on May 29, 2024; and WHEREAS, the Council has reviewed the plans and specifications and found the information provided therein to meet the requirements of the planning activity; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Fort Bragg does hereby accept the final product as complete from Community Development Block Grant Planning Grant 20-CDBG-12029.
The above and foregoing Resolution was introduced by Councilmember ________, seconded by Councilmember ________, and passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Fort Bragg held on the 24th day of June 2024, by the following vote:
