NOTICE OF ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Fort Bragg in consolidation with the Mendocino County General Election, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
POSITIONS FOR ELECTION: TWO MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL TERM OF OFFICE: FOUR-YEAR TERMS, BEGINNING DECEMBER 2024 AND ENDING DECEMBER 2028.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS: All candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a Citizen of the United States, and a registered voter residing within the city limits of Fort Bragg.
FILING PERIOD: Opens on July 15, 2024 and closes on August 9, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
If nomination papers for an incumbent City Councilmember are not filed by August 9, 2024 (the 88th day before the election), the voters shall have until the 83rd day before the election, August 14, 2022, to nominate candidates other than the person(s) who are the incumbents on the 88th day before the election, for that incumbent’s elective office.
NOMINATION PAPERS AND CANDIDATE GUIDES: Nomination paper and guides will be available at City Hall, 416 North Franklin Street, on the first day of the nomination period, Monday July 15, 2024, by scheduling an appointment with the City Clerk’s office at 707-961-2823 ext. 104, or by email at [email protected] If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by §10229, Elections Code of the State of California.
