I enjoyed the City's strategic plan workshop and support the general direction of the strategic plan. As a very detail-oriented person, however, there are a few minor errors in the document that should probably be corrected for the final version (e.g., the Page 15 reference to the federal Freedom of Information Act when I assume we intend to reference the California Public Records Act--the transparency tool I use a lot--unless we are submitting a lot of records requests to federal agencies and incurring expenses related to these requests).
Rather than going through these small details tonight, I recommend you approve the draft strategic plan and authorize the City Manager (or his designee) to make minor revisions to address these apparent drafting errors. To do so, you only need to include that direction in your approval motion. I certainly trust Isaac to make any of these minor changes without having to come back for formal Council approval.
