Honoring the 50th Anniversary of Egghead’s
WHEREAS, Egghead’s Restaurant has been a beloved institution in Fort Bragg since its founding in 1976, serving residents and visitors alike with delicious meals and warm hospitality; and WHEREAS, Eggheads played an important role in Fort Bragg’s successful transition from mill town to world renown destination; and WHEREAS, for five decades, Egghead’s has specialized in offering creative breakfast and brunch options, signature sandwiches, and fresh seafood; and WHEREAS, Egghead’s is committed to quality and sustainability by prioritizing locally sourced ingredients (including meats, produce, eggs and dairy), supporting local farmers, butchers, and roasters, utilizing commercial composting to reclaim all food waste, and ensuring fresh, flavorful dishes for its guests; and WHEREAS, the restaurant has embraced inclusivity and convenience through features such as vegetarian and vegan menu options and gender-neutral restrooms, ensuring a welcoming environment for all; and WHEREAS, Egghead’s is renowned for its whimsical Wizard of Oz theme, delighting patrons with its unique charm and creative atmosphere, making it a destination that reflects the spirit and character of Fort Bragg; and WHEREAS, for 50 years, Egghead’s has provided exceptional service, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere that makes every guest feel valued and appreciated; and WHEREAS, Egghead’s staff and owners exemplified exceptional community service through their tireless efforts to feed the vulnerable population of Fort Bragg during the COVID-19 pandemic, working 12-hour days, 7 days a week; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Bragg wishes to honor Egghead’s Restaurant for its excellence, sustainability, and positive impact on our community; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, I, Jason Godeke, Mayor of the City of Fort Bragg, on behalf of the entire City Council, do hereby recognize and congratulate Egghead’s on the exceptional occasion of its 50th anniversary, and extend our deep appreciation for their ongoing contributions to the Fort Bragg community.
