Please enter the following Comment into the Public Record, Conduct of Business Segment 8C. 26-223, Staff Report Code Enforcement ce252, May 11, 2026:
"We enthusiastically support the City Manager and Staff Planner's Recommendation for a Hybrid Code Entorcement Model for key City areas. We also ask that the City begins the Targeted Proactive aspect of this revamp of enforcement, specifically within the South Quadrant of the Central Business District. This Key Commercial/Residential Section of the CBD lies within the area bordered by Oak Street between Main St. and McPherson St., then North along McPherson St., then West along Redwood Ave. to Main St., then returning South to Oak Street. This South Quadrant of the CBD displays many visible and long standing signs of code enforcement neglect.
We hereby ask you to adopt the proposed code enforcement hybrid, and then to immediately proceed to cure the several obvious nuisance, blight, and junk structures, which pose aesthetic, public health, and safety hazards in the above described quadrant. These properties currently (some for more than two decades) threaten to diminish your recent strong revitalization efforts being enacted within the rest of the CBD. Please keep going while putting more teeth into our code enforcement.
Thank you for your considerations in this crucial challenge to community well being, Bill Mann
