City Administrator Karl Drexel explains that California Rural Water Association (CRWA) brought in a company from England that did sonar on the sewer pipe which should that section of pipe needs to be removed and replaced because it is clogged with root system and tree. The roots go under the house next to the Cal Fire station. After conferring with multiple experts, the best concept is to move the pipe closer to Cal Fire to avoid the root, unless Cal Fire is willing to cut down the tree, and negate the roots on their property. Cost would be $10,000 to move around roots and replace pipe. Members Garcia and Banks have been in contact with CalFire and are under the understanding that CalFire is having the tree and its roots removed. Contractor will determine the best option for replacing the pipe.
