ROLL CALL:
The special meeting of the Fort Jones Town Council was called to order in person by Mayor Mercedes Garcia at 5:30 p.m. In addition to the mayor, councilmembers present were Kathye Banks, Mark Eayrs, Julia Collie-Mason, and Alexander LaRiviere.
Staff present: Joshua Stanshaw, Town Administrator/Clerk.

There were no public comments on the agenda items.

DISCUSSION / REPORTS: ACTION ITEMS:
Under Civil Code § 49630(d) agenda item 4. Appointment of Town Treasurer was added by unanimous vote.
3. Review of Fee Schedule
Discussion: Town Administrator & Clerk, Joshua, brought forward a copy of a master fee schedule for review and direction by Council. The need for a review of Town Ordinances and Resolutions was discussed. Council gave direction to the Town Administrator to review existing Town Ordinances and Resolutions, as well as research requirements for
4. Appointment of Town Treasurer
Discussion: Town Administrator brought requested this addition to the agenda to appoint a treasurer for the Town of Fort Jones. This position is a requirement of California General Law Cities, and is further needed to fully execute bank signer document. Historically the position has been appointed to the incumbent Accounting Clerk.
The current Accounting Clerk, Cherie Stephen had agreed to accept the appointment if so appointed by Council.
Motion: Council Member Ayers made the motion to appoint Cherie Stephen as Treasurer for the Town of Fort Jones.

STAFF COMMENTS:
Town Administrator and Clerk, Joshua Stanshaw, thanked the Council and was relieved the week was over. It has been challenging in keeping up with shifting high priority projects of the Town.
COUNCIL COMMENTS:
K. Banks gave a report on the Recycling program within the County. Mayor Pro Tem Banks is the Town's delegate on the County committee. The County committee has been working on a county wide grant for $600,000 for a composting/green waste project. Additionally there has been discussion on installing automated recycling machines at Rain Rock Casino.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:08 p.m. The next regular town council meeting is scheduled to be held on February 12, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
