CERTIFICATION OF POSTING AGENDA
I, Michelle DeCausmaker, Pro Tem Mayor for the Town of Fort Jones, hereby certify that the agenda for the Aug. 14, 2025 special meeting of the Town Council was posted at the Town Hall, near the door of the Town Council Chambers, Ace Hardware, on the front window of the Fort Jones Post Office, Ray’s Food Place and I, Cherie Stephen, Town Administrator for the Town of Fort Jones posted the agenda on the Town’s website www.fortjonesca.org on Aug. 13, 2025 before 6:00 p.m.

The special meeting of the Fort Jones Town Council was called to order in person by Mayor Madeleine DeAndreis at 6:00 p.m. In addition to the mayor, councilmembers present were Michelle DeCausmaker, Mercedes Garcia, Alex LaRiviere, and Paula Johnson by Zoom.
Staff present: Cherie Stephen – Town Administrator by Zoom.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Led by Mayor DeAndreis
PUBLIC COMMENTS: NONE
ADJOURN TO CLOSED DOOR SESSION:
Open meeting was adjourned to closed session at 6:01 p.m.
CLOSED DOOR SESSION:
1. The town council met pursuant to Government Code § 54957 (b)(1) Public Employee Appointment; Position: Town Clerk
RETURN TO OPEN SESSION:
The town council returned to open session at 8:26 p.m.
REPORT ON CLOSED SESSION: (Any action taken will be reported in open session) Council agreed upon a candidate. After checking references, the council will make a formal offer.
DISCUSSION / REPORTS: ACTION ITEMS:
2. Possible discussion/action on appointment of the Town Clerk.
Public Comment: None
Motion: DeAndreis moves to table the appointment of the town clerk until the Sept. regular meeting.
Second: DeCausmaker
Ayes: M. DeAndreis, M. DeCausmaker, M. Garcia, P. Johnson, A. LaRiviere Nays: None
Action: Motion passes unanimously
ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 8:31 p.m. The next regular town council meeting is scheduled to be held on Sept. 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
