APPLICATION FOR "MEASURE E" OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE
The Measure E Oversight Committee will serve as an advisory committee to the City Council on how revenues generated from Measure E will be applied to the City Budget.
The Fortuna City Council will appoint seven people to the "Measure E" Oversight Committee. Four of those members must be qualified electors of the City of Fortuna and three members MAY be chosen from qualified individuals outside of the City who own a business within the City limits of Fortuna.
The Council will make the appointments with staggered terms as follows:
Two members at 2 years, Three members at 3 years, and Two members at 4 years.

Please tell us why you want to serve on this committee:
I have lived in Humboldt County since 1992 and in Fortuna for almost a decade. While living in Fortuna I have been impressed by the city's commitment to community events, the beautitul parks, and city employees. I would like to get involved and give back to the community. This city has inspired me to want to get involved and continue to make the city a lovely place to live, own a business, and visit.
What qualities, education and experience do you possess which make you the right candidate for this committee:
I have worked for the County of Humboldt for over 16 years and have learned much about how government agencies work. I worked as an analyst for ten years and am now a project manager.
I believe the skills and strengths I have honed over the years in these positions would make me an asset to the committee. I can analyze situations, problem-solve, have an eye for detail, am an excellent communicator, have time management skills, and work collaboratively.
What group or demographic do you feel you best represent and why:
I represent people who enjoy living in Fortuna and want to see the city be a safe place to live, raise children, and retire in a community who respect and take care of one another. I have never lived in a lace where neighbors are so caring and the sense of community is so real and i have a desire to promote that spirit.
How do you think the money should be spent:
I would like to see the funds be dedicated for the purposes as intended by the voters who passed the measure in 2016 - to provide money to essential city services, while also providing funding to programs for seniors and youth, and the maintenance of our beautiful parks. 1 Die 10/6/21

Meetings: TBD, will be involved in the fiscal year budget process which normally starts in January
Terms: The members will serve staggered terms of 2, 3, and 4 year lengths. Appointments to specific terms are made by the City Council.
