Honorable Mayor and Councilmembers,
At our February 2, 2022, Special Board Meeting, the Fortuna Business Improvement District Board of Directors unanimously voted to recommend Amanda Phillips to the City Council for appointment to one of our open City-Wide seats, to represent the Professional and Service Industries.
Ms. Phillips has 17 years of government work experience, including policy and procedure creation, and analysis of local, state, and federal law. She currently serves as a Project Manager with the County of Humboldt. She has a background in hospitality, and her family owned and operated a small business in a rural area. She is familiar with the challenges facing independent business owners.
Ms. Phillips resides in Fortuna, and she is eager to be of service to our business community. As all of our board members do, she cares deeply about the City of Fortuna. We believe she will be a reliable, level-headed, and productive addition to our Board of Directors. We also believe she will bring a much welcome level of thoughtfulness and intellect to our group.
