Re: Your Letter Dated June 6, 2022
Dear Mr. Plotz:
Following your letter dated June 6, 2022, I still do not believe the Fortuna Business Improvement Corporation overpaid me. Unfortunately, your new letter still alleges certain overpayments, and the supporting documents you have provided still provide no evidence to support those allegations of overpayments. The proof of payments to me as an employee is not proof of overpayments.
My previous employer, the Fortuna Business Improvement Corporation, has reviewed the supporting documents attached to your letter. They also had an attorney, and the FBID Auditor, review those documents, and following their review of the papers, they provided me with a letter that read in part;
"After consideration and review by the auditor and an attorney, we do not believe there was any deliberate misuse of FBID funds. We did find, however, that it was difficult to reconstruct years of past practices by former Boards and employees, which likely would have prevented many of the questions put to you by the auditor. We thank you for your time in this matter and your many vears of service to FBID. "
Following their review and my review of the management letter, internal control letter, and audited financial statements performed by Anderson, Lucus, Somerville & Borges, LLP, I have not seen any evidence of overpayment. Therefore, you cannot expect me to pay $9,656.02; proof of payment is not evidence of an overpayment, and the FBID Board, their Attorney, and the auditor agreed.
Respectfully,
Dianna Rios
