EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The River Lodge and Monday Club held a total of 33 events in the month of October. Aside from the regularly held monthly meetings, October was a very busy month.

There was one wedding held at River Lodge in October. This wedding was the first of many weddings for Kaylyn Stainbrook, our Conference Center Coordinator. Kaylyn interviewed the couple and is going to create an ongoing Wedding Blog that will highlight the individual stories that our couples have. The blog will include pictures of the wedding day provided by the wedding photographer.

Fortuna Chamber of Commerce held a Council Forum open to the public at the Monday Club. City Council candidates answered questions from the audience.

Kiwanis held their Annual Business Women’s Luncheon at River Lodge, and the Humboldt Harmonaires returned to the Monday Club for a live concert.

The California Conservation Corps Watershed Stewards Project held a four-day orientation at River Lodge.

North Coast Regional Land Trust held an annual dinner and auction, and the Pregnancy Care Center held a fundraising event that was very well attended.

Six Rivers National Forest Service was at River Lodge for an employee meeting and brought a 12 foot Smokey the Bear for pictures on the patio.

River Lodge was the site for a three-day Quilt Retreat for 54 busy seamstresses.

On Halloween, Siana Emmons, Buffy Gray, and Liz Camacho, planned a fun party for the City Employees. Lunch was served, costumes were judged, and there were prize drawings.

There were no Covid Testing dates in October due to the facility already being booked with prior events.

Parks workers did some much-needed weed pulling and landscaping at River Lodge. Their help is always much appreciated.

Kaylyn and I continue to attend the online Tyler Technology trainings in preparation for launching the new software this winter. We have been preparing for the upcoming Holiday Craft Faire that will take place on November 19th and 20th.
