SUBJECT: Council Review and Discussion of Committee/Commission Applications and Mayor’s Appointment of Seats
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Review applications for the Measure E Oversight Committee and Planning Commission. Discuss and consider approving the Mayor’s appointments for 2023.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Below is a list of the City Committee and Commission that currently have open seats. A copy of the applications received for each are attached for review.
Measure E Oversight Committee:
Four (4) of the seven (7) Measure E Oversight Committee seats are vacant as of December 31, 2022. The terms of office for Measure E Oversight Committee Members are three (3) – three (3) year terms (expiring on December 31, 2025) and one (1) - two (2) year term (expiring on December 31, 2024).
The City has received four applications: Debi August (re-appointment), Donald Ingram (reappointment), Sue Long (new-appointment) (three (3) year terms) and Joe Hardcastle (reappointment (two (2) year term).
Planning Commission:
Three (3) seats and one (1) Alternate seat is vacant as of December 31, 2022. The terms of office for Planning Commissioners are four (4) year terms (expiring on December 31, 2026).
The City has received three (3) applications: Sandy Blakely (re-appointment), Brian Bennett (newappointment), Joshua Dorris (new-appointment), (all four (4) year terms).
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
1. Receive staff report and review Council questions with staff.
2. Open Public Comment
3. Close Public Comment
4. Mayor recommends Committee/Commission appointments to the Council.
5. Motion to approve the Mayor’s appointments. Roll Call vote.
